Art Workshops with Ayesha Weekes – Wednesdays 1:15 - 2:15pm and 2:15 - 3:15pm
Ayesha is a practicing fine artist based in Catford, London focusing on ceramics, body painting, drawing and painting. She has been teaching children and young people art in formal and informal settings for over 20 years. She is passionate about nurturing creativity and artistic skills to enable children and young people to develop transferable skills and experience the therapeutic value of art.
Ayesha’s creative art sessions are designed to explore the elements and principles of art in both the 2D and 3D, through a wide range of mediums, including but not limited to, acrylics paint, watercolours, inks, pastels, oil pastels, clay, papier mâché, collage, print, textile and much more! Children also learn about different artistic styles, movements, and techniques through exploring prominent and emerging artists from around the world to inspire their own creativity. The art sessions are about exploring and nurturing the creative processes and not the end result. Children are encouraged to explore in the ways they want freely and come up with their own ideas and they are encouraged to create individual and collaborative, unique works using styles or techniques being focused on, so they can feel confident.
In summary, children joining Ayesha’s workshops benefit enormously from:
