Nicola is passionate and skilled at teaching both adults and children. She delivered a citizen safety course to key stage 1 and 2 for London borough schools for over 15 years and is also experienced in teaching neurodivergent and vulnerable children.
She has been part of the FLS team since 2022 and has been truly inspired by the FLS environment, where children are free to express themselves and flourish. Her mission is to support children to understand themselves, have adventures that are limitless, and make magical memories whilst acquiring
vital survival skills that they will remember throughout their lives, all in a fun, caring and safe environment.
Survival Skills Workshop at FLS - Tuesdays 1:15 - 2:15pm and 2:15 - 3:15pm
Next Term in Survival Skills, the children will learn some First Aid and work on strategies to remain calm in an emergency situation. They will understand the roles of the different emergency services and when and how to call them. They will learn about Fire Safety, understanding the chemical elements that combine to
cause different fires, and how to prevent, detect and escape from them in the home. They will make a stretcher out of blankets and another out of branches, practise tying different knots and learn about being safe in and around water. They will practise rescue operations both individually and as a team, whilst problem solving, building their confidence, and developing their observational and communication skills.
