We welcome and accept applications from families from all social backgrounds, cultures, faiths, religions, genders and ethnicities. Family involvement is at the heart of the FLS ethos and we encourage applications from prospective families with a diverse range of backgrounds, experiences and skills, willing to contribute to the education and infrastructure of the community as a whole. We are a community-based flexi- school and need families who will fully engage with their child’s education; commit the necessary time to support learning outside of the flexi-school; collaborate respectfully with teaching staff; and participate wholeheartedly in the school community.
We are open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays from 09.45 – 15.15.
We ask that all children are registered as Home Educated with their Local Authority unless they are registered at another school and have permission from that school to attend sessions with us. In this case, we would make contact with the school in order to collaborate and support the child as fully as possible.
Parents can book sessions on a termly basis, and bookings for each term will be open from the beginning of the preceding half-term. For example, bookings for the summer term (April - July 2024) will be open at the beginning of February 2024. When booking sessions you will be asked to complete an application form, and should you wish your child to attend all 3 days per week, you may be required to attend a Family Meeting. In some cases, a trial session may also be advised. This is in the interests of everyone, to ensure that our ethos is the right fit for your family and that we are confident we can meet any needs that your child may have.
